Enrichment
From Pre-K through 6th grade, we pride ourselves in quality enrichment to engage and inspire our well-rounded students. They enjoy time outside of the classroom for other engaging subjects such as French, music, musical programs, art, physical education, and library.
In addition to classroom art, students visit the art room weekly to explore a variety of mediums and techniques. Throughout the year, they paint, sketch, sculpt, and draw while learning about and emulating the great masters. Our students' masterpieces are proudly displayed at our Spring Art Exhibit.

Students attend music classes and are introduced to a variety of instruments, musical styles, and composers. Students refine their public speaking skills twice a year at performances of treasured musical programs. Students and families alike look forward to these special musical programs all year long.

Physical activity is vital for a successful school day. In our daily P.E. class, play connects the important elements of building a healthy body, exhibiting good sportsmanship, and learning a variety of sports and games.

French is a global language that closely connects to the our phonetic spelling and reading program. HCS offers conversational French with important grammatical areas taught within the context of the French culture. The goal of Highlands Christian School is for the students to enjoy and appreciate foreign language at an early age.

Weekly visits to the library are magical for our students. Book Fair, story times, access to check out books, and our Accelerated Reader (A.R.) program are sure to bring out the avid reader in your child. The A.R. program is highly effective in raising reading achievements and interests for students at their own pace.

Recess and unstructured play are key to every student's healthy, balanced school day experience. Recess is an important part of every grade level’s daily schedule and is offered multiple times a day for our younger students.
