Debby Duncan
Mrs. Duncan holds a Master’s degree in Elementary Education from Winthrop University (SC) but would tell you that the students are the ones who have taught her how to teach over her 34+ years in education. She aims to foster a safe and loving learning environment where curiosity is encouraged. She works to develop active learners who can think critically, develop their own ideas, make connections between ideas, and take action through strategic thinking. She’s passionate about raising a student’s awareness of the world and broadening his or her perspective. Mrs. Duncan finds great joy in learning each student’s unique personality and witnessing her students grow, learn, and achieve over time. Mrs. Duncan joins HCS after a 24-year tenure at Highlander School. Prior to Texas, she enjoyed teaching students in South Carolina and Louisiana. Mrs. Duncan is married to her husband, Rob, and together they have two adult sons, Andrew and Reed.
